THE EDGE YOUTH GROUP

The group will offer a residential weekend activity to 50 local young people to be held at the Peak Centre (Edale, Derbyshire) in May over two nights. For many of the participants, this will be their first weekend away from home.
TOUCHE FENCING CLUB
AWARDED £1,000.00
The group will run accessible fencing classes for young people in the Bletchley area. This is an opportunity that most young people, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, do not usually have.
MILTON KEYNES NHS RETIREMENT FELLOWSHIP

MILTON KEYNES MODEL ENGINEERING SOCIETY
AWARDED £2,356.00
The group runs a miniature railway that is open to the public at weekends. They are in the process of building a new track for their public facility at Caldecotte but have found that certain items - particularly the points - have cost significantly more than anticipated. This has led to a shortfall in funding that could jeopardise the whole project if funds are not found to purchase the remainder of the rail needed. This grant will cover the cost of the extra materials needed to finish the project.
This well established bowls club is an important part of the village's social and recreational landscape.To meet the aspirations of the club members, the group has recently joined a local day league affiliated to the English short mat bowls association. Whereas league membership has been beneficial in expanding the club's recreational and social network, their 2 mats are not up to league standard. This grant will pay for 2 new bowls mats.
5TH NEWPORT PAGNELL BROWNIES

Due to the Centenary celebrations this year, the group is running a bit short on funds. Many of the girls come from financially disadvantaged families and increasing their fees would put a difficult burden on many of the participants. This grant would make a contribution toward their materials (badges, notepads, pens, etc) as well venue hire and some party decorations for their 30th anniversary party in June.
FRIENDS OF WALNUT SCHOOL

This grant will fund a pilot programme for families with autistic children to receive 7 days of specialist training spread over the next year from a well-known and highly regarded speech and language therapist who is the creator of the 'Attention Autism' programme, which employs an innovative approach to developing communication skills in autistic children.
FRIENDS OF THE RADCLIFFE SCHOOL
AWARDED £3,115.63
This grant will support the group to run a 'Festival of Womenhood', a project that is being driven by students at the school. The remit behind 'A Festival of Womanhood' is to engage women in Milton Keynes to take up ESOL classes which will assist them with developing their children's education. These Asian women are being actively encouraged to access services which help them take up a greater role in their children's academic education.
LONGUEVILLE LITTLE THEATRE COMPANY
AWARDED £1,628.00
The group's current scenery flats are 30 years old and are now beyond a point where they can be economically repaired. This fundinghas been awarded to purchase materials to build 37 new scenery flats.
SPORT MILTON KEYNES
AWARDED £5,000.00
Over the last year, the Foundation has provided funding to the group to run a series of First Aid and Child Protection courses for their affiliated member organisations. This grant will enable them to provide FA coaching courses for member groups. They will run 2 sessions, with 10 people attending an FA Level 1 course and 10 people attending an FA Level 2 course.
THE MIDDLE EASTERN CULTURAL GROUP

Supported by this funding, The Middle Eastern Cultural Group will offer a free cultural exhibition in the city centre (CCC) featuring Middle Eastern food, fashion, music and art. The intention is to create an opportunity to experience a cross-section of the variety of regional influences which will be the next best thing to actually going there.

PARKSIDE COMMUNITY SPORTS & FOOTBALL CLUB

A Community Club offering football training for people in wheelchairs as well as young people. The club has the opportunity to attend and participate in a training weekend in Ostende, Belgium, on the weekend of the 29th - 31st May 2010. This grant will provide funding for transport costs including hire of a minibus, fuel and the ferry crossing.
TINKERS BRIDGE COMMUNITY DROP IN
AWARDED £5,000.00
The Tinkers Bridge Meeting Place is a valuable community space, utilised by local residents of all ages. This project will create a safe, versatile and positive outdoor space, featuring soft play areas for toddlers and younger children, a garden space, an area with artificial turf for outdoor games and sport, a young people's 'hangout' area, raised beds and vegetable planting.
ABBOTSWOOD SOCIAL CLUB
AWARDED £645.00
The members of the club are requesting funding for a trip to Cotswold Wildlife Park and Gardens on the 14th July. Without this funding, many of the elderly residents would not be able to afford to go on a trip like this.

MILTON KEYNES BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION

MK Basketball across Milton Keynes. At present there is no Milton Keynes Basketball League. There is a Bucks Basketball League, but this is seen as cost prohibitive at the moment as the annual cost is £500 for a team. Games in the Bucks League take place in Aylesbury. MK Basketball club organisers, would rather set up a Milton Keynes Basketball league. It is hoped this will be achieved in the latter part of 2010.
BOSOM PALS

The group is generally self sustaining but are requesting funds to purchase a stock of contact cards, leaflets and posters to promote their services around local healthcare settings. The group want to make people aware that there is support available to them as they go through a very difficult time in their lives.
ASSOCIATION OF GHANAIANS IN MILTON KEYNES

This grant is to support the group's End of Year Party that will bring the community together and promote Ghanaian culture. The Association expects apporosimately 300 people to attend this event, which will be held at Conniburrow Pavillion Meeting Place on December 12th. An MC and DJ have been approached and fliers have already been printed, promoting music and a children's dance competition. No admission fee will be charged to those who are attending and the Association says it will subsidise the costs not covered by the grant award. The Foundation did fund their Christmas party last yeat, and there was a small amount allowed for decorations for that event, as well. however they were streamers and balloons, etc and were disposed of after the end of year party.
MK MULTIPLES

The group caters for the parents, carers and expectant parents of twins, triplets and more living in and around Milton Keynes. This grant will pay for new toys for the babies and toddlers that will improve their social and educational development.
EYE FOR ART CLUB

Eye For Art Club co-ordinates different art and craft activities and workshops for all visually impaired people in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas. This grant will pay for artists to run 6 half day workshops with the group. They will design and create unique art work to clad the chicken shed at the Interaction Old Rectory.
EMBERTON PLAYING FIELD

The grant is being requested to finance the purchase of a new hand pushed power mower required to maintain specific areas of the sports pitches and an area of field which is ot level ground and is uneven. They have another mower that is pulled by a tractor but this is not suitable for many areas.
MILTON KEYNES MODEL ENGINEERING SOCIETY

The society runs a minature railway at Caldecotte Lake and are in the process of building a new track. The group have found that they are in need of a welder generator in order to complete this work as the machine they used to us in now beyond repair. This grant will buy the generator, which will also provide them with electricity on site.
PARKSIDE COMMUNITY SPORTS & FOOTBALL CLUB

The group runs a wheelchair football team and a team for juiors. This funding is primarily: to pay for additional wheelchair attachements to enable new members to play wheelchair football; and to cover travel costs for taining and away games, which would otherwise prevent many members from taking part. The grant will also purchase some kit and support their Christmas celebrations.
2366 (BLETCHLEY PARK) SQUADRON ATC

The squadron own a Harrier GR3 aircraft that is park outside the Squadron HQ at Bletchley Park. This grant will pay for hard standing, fencing, steps and hard tyres for the plane so that it can be used for teaching the young cadets about cockpit systems, aircraft design, avionics and engines.
MK BANGLADESHI ASSOCIATION

Based at the Bradwell Road Recreation Ground, the club is working to improve the facilities on offer. This grant is to help the club purchase and install a non turf wicket practise area that will be used by both club club members and local schools. The club's current practise facilities are not good. They have a pitch that they use for games but it can't really be used for practice as it needs to be maintained to a certain standard. This means that the club often loses members as they are not able to practice on a good surface.
