Grassroots Grants

Since July 2008 we have been awarding the Grassroots Grants Programme in Milton Keynes.

This is a nationwide Government initiative to improve local communities through supporting local VCS. Through the scheme we will be awarding £270,000 in small grants of between £250 - £5,000 to local community groups over the next three years.

Grassroots Grants: The power to make lasting Change

Supported by a team of community representatives, the Foundation will be using its expertise in grant-making and knowledge of the local area to award grants.

So, if you are a small local Community Group looking for funding for new or existing activities then a Grassroots Grant may be right for you.
Your group is eligible to apply if you meet these criteria:

1. You have been active in the local community for at least 12 months. Organisations do not need to have been formally constituted for this time, but must be able to show that they have been active as a group eg. working with the local Community Mobiliser;

2. You have an annual turnover of less than £20,000 - this is an average over 3 years;

3. You are volunteer led or mainly run by volunteers, perhaps with a part time staff member.

If you need funding more urgently than these dates allow, please contact us. The Grassroots Grants programme is flexible and responsive to community needs and we will accept applications outside of these deadline dates if there is a clear need for an earlier decision.
