Up to £5,000
There are two kinds of grant of up to £5,000 available to you:
(NB. If you are responding to the Survive & Thrive Fund, both of these grants are suitable. Please contact our grants team to find out which grants round is closest to the date of your application)
1. Grassroots Grants
Suitable if your group’s annual turnover is less than £20,000 and your group has been in existence for at least 12 months. You can apply for a Grassroots grant in this category of between £901 to £5,000.
Grassroots Grants are awarded five times a year the application deadlines are:
Thursday 1st April 2010
Friday 18th June 2010
Friday 27th August 2010

2. Community Grants
Community Grants are awarded five times a year, application deadlines are as follows:
Friday 9th April 2010 - (committee meeting May 13th)
Friday 11th June 2010 - (committee meeting July 15th)
Friday 10th September 2010 - (committee meeting October 14th)
Friday 19th November 2010 - (committee meeting January 13th 2011)
Friday 11th February 2011 - (committee meeting March 24th 2011).

What Happens Next?
Your application will be considered by a committee of experienced and impartial Community Representatives and Trustees. The committee comprises members who represent a broad cross-section of the community, they have a sound understanding of local needs and excellent grassroots knowledge. Grants are allocated using a weighting system based on local need and the strengths of each project.
Click here for advice on the kind of information you should include in your application.
You will be informed of the committee’s decision within one week of the grant meeting. If your application is successful, we will monitor the progress of your project and we will require an evaluation afterwards.
