Around 100 guests from across the UK gathered in the Jubilee Room at the House of Commons to support the national launch of the Surviving Winter Campaign. Representatives of the MK Community Foundation joined high profile celebrities including journalist Martyn Lewis; Denise Robertson, agony aunt from ITV's This Morning show, and Sports Commentator Dickie Davis at the launch event.
The atmosphere was one of excitement and enthusiasm as the Surviving Winter Campaign will raise vital funds to support older and vulnerable people from your area who will face the very real issue of the whether they can afford to HEAT or EAT this winter.
Saga and the National Energy Action Charity are supporting the national campaign alongside many high profile celebrities including Sir Terry Wogan, Sir Michael Parkinson, Sir David Jason, Jonathan Dimbleby, Rosemary Conley, Ann Widdecombe and Bill Roache.
Dame Cleo Laine is also supporting the campaign through her connection with the MK Community Foundation.
Community Foundations across the UK are leading this campaign, asking people in their communities who can afford it to help raise vital funds and support those most vulnerable during the winter months.
The launch was generously sponsored by George Hollingbury MP and was a great opportunity to raise the profile of this UK wide campaign.
