Stony Stratford Mummers Raise Vital Surviving Winter Funds

Local performing group the Stony Stratford Mummers have raised a fantastic £325 for our Surviving Winter Campaign, and through the Warm Homes, Healthy People Initiative we can now match this to make it £650.

The Mummers have been raising money for charitable causes since 1973, collecting in total around £5,000, by performing traditional Mummers plays at Christmas time, including at the Stony Stratford Lights switch on, the Olney Dickens event and a Friday before Christmas tour of pubs in the Milton Keynes area.
Eric Thompson of the Stony Stratford Mummers said ‘we chose to support the Surviving Winter Appeal because it is a local campaign and more elderly and vulnerable people are having to make the choice between the heat or eat option with rising fuel costs.’
