How to Get Involved
If you feel you would like to get involved with the work of the Milton Keynes Community Foundation, and help to play a vital part in the community, then we would be delighted to hear from you. There are various ways to join us:
1. Become a Trustee - Vacancies Now Available
The Board of Trustees take on the role of governance, rather than day-to-day management of the Foundation. Each Trustee needs to be prepared to make an important contribution to the Foundation's objectives, which requires having the interests of the community at heart and includes making a commitment to regular attendance at Board and Committee meetings, involvement in the Foundation's fund-raising programme, maintaining awareness of the Foundation's activities and also those of the local voluntary sector.
2. Become a Community Representative
As a community representative your main role is to sit on and advise on our grants awarding panel. When applications are received the committee meets and funds are allocated on a weighting system based on the strengths and needs of the project. Our Community Representatives demonstrate a broad understanding of local needs and excellent grassroots knowledge of the community. The term service is usually up to three years. In addition you would attend occasional events and functions for and on behalf of the Foundation.
3. Become an Ambassador
As an Ambassador of the Foundation, you would help to promote the Foundation through events, networking and all suitable channels. This role helps to increase awareness of the vital role the Foundation plays within the local community.
4. Become a Volunteer
From time to time volunteering opportunities arise in many aspects of our work. As a volunteer your help would be providing much needed support to the community.
If you would like further information on any of these roles please get in touch with us either by email info@mkcommunityfoundation.co.uk or call us on 01908 690276.
